In puris naturalibus has been very kindly given the Kick-Ass Blogger Award today by my beloved Liberal, Progressive, Feminist, Episcopalian...Eileen the Episcopalifem.
Eileen is a phenomenon in the blogosphere and particularly the progressive Christian and Anglican/Episcopalian tribes, so this award really makes my head swell. I just hope that I can continue to live up to this ass-kicking reputation.
Since Eileen was lovely enough to give me this award, I'm abiding by the rule to turn this around and award five other bloggers with the same laurels. The naked truth is that every day after my lauds, (and even when I skip the lauds) I indulge in Of Course, I Could Be Wrong; the rantings of Fr. Jonathan, better known as the Mad Priest. I would have given him an award...but Eileen already did.
So, here goes the list of five...
Fellow Johannite Fr. Scott Rassbach's Eighth Sermon to the Dead artfully tackles everything from εν αρχη ην ο λογος (In the beginning was the Word...) to Galactic Civilizations II. Scott+ is not only a great priest, monsignor and litrugical wizard, he also happens to be a genuinely nice guy.
My friend Grace author of The Wild Pomegranate is possibly one of the loveliest people on the planet..and she's going through some tough times. Grace's spirtual insights and simple care for others and herself make her a real ass-kicking wonder-woman.
Anglican Priest, Fr. David Heron regularly gives me a much-needed chuckle as he "sounds off about the Church, the world and the Devil." Fr. David leaves no stone unturned, and no feelings unhurt. He's a bitter pill...and he knows it, but his heart is pure and his take on ecclesial and temporal intrigues makes it all seem sweet.
+Thomas Langley's Light & Life is a great mix of good old fashioned lefty politics and a healthy dose of Alexandrian Gnosticism. Bishop Thomas is one of those fellows who actually walks-the-walk, and makes no bones about his radical views.
I do not know Lee Hamilton, the self-described "dabbler and scribbler", but I have enjoyed his thoughtful and artistc blog Platonic Shift for a couple of years now. Lee often shares his very impressive photographic talent, and short but thoughtful ideas on his personal Catholicism, news, politics and things Canadian.
Congratulations to one and all...
